Today we visited the Projeto Tamar, in Barra de Lagoa. It is a preserve for turtles on the island of Florianopolis. They have helped rescue, save, bread, and hatch thousands of turtles and have some of the different species from Brazil in tanks for people to come and see and learn about the different species. While we were visiting there were kids from a local elementary school learning about the turtles, where they live, what they eat, and how they hatch on the beaches here in floripa.
