Today I went to the beach for the first time in Brazil! It was awesome! I had portuguese class this morning then we all took the bus to Lagoa where the apartments are and walked to the beach from there. The beach is called Praia de Joaquina, it's stunning. White sand, warm water, and live music.
They sell fresh coconut water on the beaches and through out the city. What you do is order it (Agua do Coco) and they chop off the top and drill a hole into it and stick a straw in it for you! It's the best coconut water I have EVER HAD!
Local street venders try and sell you all sorts of snack and stuff on the beaches. These are churos, Brazilians really really like their sweets here.
